The Massachusetts Correctional Institution, Framingham, houses females sentenced to imprisonment, awaiting trial, or committed by the courts for alcohol or substance abuse treatment (MGLA c 125, s 16; c 123, s 35). The superintendent is responsible for administering the facility. Psychiatric consultation reports are created by the psychology unit for the superintendent to evaluate the emotional and mental state of inmates who may be a danger to themselves or others during their incarceration.
